A cupcake asks for no knife, no plate and no service. You take it, you eat it, you put the case down. That is exactly what makes it the easiest piece to pass around an office, a meeting room, a school party or a stand. At Wooly Pâtisserie it costs €6.90 each and comes in three flavours.

The base stays soft, almost airy, and the frosting is piped just before sale. Three recipes run permanently: full chocolate, gentle vanilla, red velvet with its cocoa note.

The three flavours

  • Chocolate. Melting centre, honest cocoa, a creamy frosting that holds without flattening the taste.
  • Vanilla. Light texture, discreet aroma, the version that suits delicate palates and children.
  • Red velvet. Velvety red colour, a blend of cocoa and vanilla, the recipe out of the United States.

On the cupcake page you pick the flavour and the quantity. No minimum: one piece alongside a coffee, or thirty for a buffet.

The cupcake that carries your image

A second reference exists: the cupcake with a printed image. An edible 5 cm disc is laid on the frosting, carrying the file you send us. Same price of €6.90 each, but two conditions: a minimum of 36 pieces per order and a two week lead time, because edible printing has to be prepared.

The frame is round: what matters belongs in the middle of the file, otherwise the edges are lost. JPG, PNG and PDF are accepted. The same image is repeated on every piece of the order, and the flavours are split as you wish.

Where to find them

Cupcakes are sold over the counter at our four Brussels addresses: Uccle, Etterbeek, Stockel and Waterloo. The day's stock differs from shop to shop: for a precise number at a precise hour, reserve rather than turn up and hope.

Ordering online works too, with collection in a shop or home delivery. Charges and zones are on the delivery page; they are calculated automatically from your address when you confirm the basket.

Buffets, offices and schools

For a tray, the portion is the real advantage: everyone takes their own, nobody cuts, nothing runs. Thirty-six pieces cover a team meeting or a whole class. Above that, or for a sensitive date, use the contact form: we confirm feasibility before anything is committed.

Keeping them at their best

Keep them in their box, at room temperature, away from a sunny window. The fridge dries the base and stiffens the frosting; if you have no choice, take them out twenty minutes before serving. The same day remains, by far, the best moment.

Where the small thing comes from

The name comes from the measure. In the nineteenth century American households measured batter in cups rather than on scales, and baked it in small containers: quick baking, proportions easy to remember, hence the cup cake. The method has crossed a century and a half without growing complicated. What changed is the decoration: piped frostings, pearls, sprinkles, printed motifs.

We keep the essential part, the individual portion and the baking in a paper case, with pastry made here rather than industrially. It is a format that sits beside a coffee as easily as it fills a party table, and it travels without particular precaution.

Cupcake or cake: which to choose

The question comes back often. A cake creates a moment: it is carried in, blown out, cut. The cupcake removes that moment but settles the logistics: no cutting in front of thirty people, no uneven slices, no washing up. For a school party, where a knife has no place, the cupcake wins. For a birthday at the table, the birthday cake stays stronger. Nothing stops you taking both.

Frequently asked questions about cupcakes

What does a cupcake cost ?

€6.90 each, 6 % VAT included, whether the frosting is plain or carries a printed image. The price comes from the product page; there is no separate wholesale rate.

Is there a minimum quantity ?

Per piece, no: you take what you want, in the shop or online. For the printed image version the minimum is 36 pieces per order, because edible printing is prepared in a batch.

Which flavours do you offer ?

Three: chocolate, vanilla and red velvet. The base is soft, the frosting is piped. From 36 pieces upward you split the flavours as you wish; tell us the split when you order.

What lead time for a large order ?

Two weeks for the personalised version. For a tray of classic cupcakes, warn us as early as you can: availability depends on the day and the shop, and we confirm before taking payment.

How should they be kept ?

At room temperature, out of the sun, in their box. Frosting copes badly with the heat of a car in the sun, and the back of a fridge dries the base out. The same day remains the best moment.

Do they contain allergens ?

The recipe rests on wheat flour, eggs and dairy, and the workshop handles other ingredients alongside. The detail is on our allergens page; for a specific allergy, write to us before ordering.
